Updates on Game Jam and Game Blast 18

Hi everyone,

We have good news and bad news so let’s get the bad news out of the way first!

The bad news is that, due to many of our members being unavailable, we will not be attending Global Game Jam this time.

However, the good news is that we are still on for GameBlast18 at the end of February!

GameBlast18 is a weekend of sponsored gaming marathons, raising money for the charity Special Effect.

We will be doing a 24 hour games marathon from Saturday 24th to Sunday 25th February and will stream it live on our Twitch channel.

If you would like to find out more about the event or support us, please visit our fundraising page on JustGiving.

Global Game Jam and GameBlast18

Hi everyone!

This blog has been a little quiet recently but we’re still here and we have two events coming up to kick the year off!

In January, we will be participating in Global Game Jam, a weekend of game development around a given theme.

Then, in February, we will be participating in GameBlast18, a weekend of game marathons to raise money for the charity, Special Effect.

We’ll be back with further updates on both of these soon but for now, we’d like to wish everyone a Happy New Year!

All the best,

GameBlast17: Feb 24th – Feb 25th

Hi everyone,

From February 24th-25th, we will be taking part in a sponsored 24 hour gaming marathon for a charity event called Game Blast 17 and we need your help!

What is GameBlast17?

Game Blast 17 is a weekend of sponsored gaming marathons, raising money for the charity Special Effect, who develop specialist equipment to enable disabled children and young people to play games again with their friends and families.

Last year, my team raised over £500 so we aim to raise at least £500 again this year!

How can I help?

If you would like to support me and my team, please follow the link below to make a donation.

When is it?

We will start the marathon at 6PM on Friday Feb 24th and play through to 6PM Sat 25th, and the event will be streamed live on our Twitch channel:

We will be playing games from various franchises, such as Lego Dimensions, Project Diva: Future Tone and Resident Evil 7.

Not So Global Game Jam 2017

Hello followers!

Global Game Jam starts today and that means our own Not So Global Game Jam shall begin today as well!

As we mentioned in a previous post, the majority of our team were not able to make the event in person so we are holding our own unofficial jam remotely from 7PM tonight.

We look forward to getting stuck in!

See you soon,

Global Games Jam 2017

Hello all,

It’s a new year and that means that Global Games Jam is just around the corner!

Unfortunately, as some of our members are busy and our team is quite wide-spread across the UK, we are not all able to attend one jam site in person and have instead decided to run our own jam remotely, with the members of the team that can attend.

Global Games Jam runs from the 20th-22nd of January so we will be running our own jam on those days too, though we shall start at the later time of 19:00.

Seeing as this will not be an official part of Global Games Jam, we shall decide our own theme for the game we make but we shall still aim to make one within 48 hours.

We shall keep you updated as the jam approaches!

New Projects: Web browser game and Vocaloid music

Hi everyone,

It’s been a while, hasn’t it?

A few of our members have been busy with their final year studies at university and moving home etc. so things have admittedly been a bit quiet around here.

However, there are a couple of new projects which have come up while we’ve been offline which we would like to tell you about now.

First off, an IT Consultancy company have approached us to ask for a web-browser game for their website. For this task, our team have split up so that one sub-team can work on the new project and the rest can focus on our ongoing game project, Sanctuary.

Secondly, we are pleased to announce that our lead designer has also begun work on a music project, composing music with the use of Fruity Loops and voice synthesis software called Vocaloid Editor 4.

To find out more about this project, please visit our new Vocaloid page linked below:

Visit our Vocaloid page

I’m afraid we can’t tell you much more about the game project for the IT Consultancy company until the game is complete but we will update you on both projects as much as we can.

I hope to update you all again soon,
