Updates on Game Jam and Game Blast 18

Hi everyone,

We have good news and bad news so let’s get the bad news out of the way first!

The bad news is that, due to many of our members being unavailable, we will not be attending Global Game Jam this time.

However, the good news is that we are still on for GameBlast18 at the end of February!

GameBlast18 is a weekend of sponsored gaming marathons, raising money for the charity Special Effect.

We will be doing a 24 hour games marathon from Saturday 24th to Sunday 25th February and will stream it live on our Twitch channel.

If you would like to find out more about the event or support us, please visit our fundraising page on JustGiving.

Global Game Jam and GameBlast18

Hi everyone!

This blog has been a little quiet recently but we’re still here and we have two events coming up to kick the year off!

In January, we will be participating in Global Game Jam, a weekend of game development around a given theme.

Then, in February, we will be participating in GameBlast18, a weekend of game marathons to raise money for the charity, Special Effect.

We’ll be back with further updates on both of these soon but for now, we’d like to wish everyone a Happy New Year!

All the best,

Global Game Jam 16: Spirited

Hello followers,

We’re back from Global Game Jam and we had a great time together!

The Eathanians were split across two teams this year, the Warriors Of Light and Nicktendo Eathania Squirrel. (Don’t ask…)

This year, the theme given was ‘Ritual’.

Nicktendo Eathania Squirrel made a 2D platformer called ‘Spirited’, in which you play as a Native American boy named Coda. Coda uses the power of totems to transform into spirit animals.

You can watch our  demonstration video of Spirited, including blooper reel and gameplay, on YouTube.

If you want to play Spirited yourself, then you can find out more information and download the game from our GGJ16 page.

We hope you enjoy it as much as we enjoyed making it!

Global Game Jam – Jam Jar

Hello followers,

You may have heard that we will be going to Global Game Jam next week.

We will be attending at the Staffordshire University site and will be split across two teams.

We have also decided to take part in GamesAid’s Jam Jar campaign!

We will have a jam jar full of tasty treats to offer to fellow jammers in exchange for a donation of whatever the jammer wishes to pay for the sweets. The proceeds will then go to the charity, GamesAid, who help support children and young people in need.

If you will be attending the site, please let us know if you have any requests for sweets!

We will keep you posted on further updates.

See you there!

Global Game Jam 2016

Hello followers,

The weekend is coming to a close but we have some exciting events to look forward to in the next couple of months.

First off, we will be taking part in the Global Game Jam from January 29th to 31st. The Gam Jam is a global event, in which teams of 6 or less must make a game in 48 hours.

Seeing as Eathania has over 6 members, we have split ourselves across two separate teams for this event.

We shall be revealing more details as the event draws nearer so we will keep you updated!

Watch this space for updates on GGJ and more events to follow in February.

Introducing ‘Admission’

Good evening followers,

After 48 hours, 2 takeaways and barely any sleep, we made it through our first Global Game Jam!

The theme was “What do we do now?” and we decided to make a point and click in a visual novel style.

The game is called ‘Admission’ and sees the player waking up alone in a hospital, wondering why they are there and, of course, what should they do now?

Feel free to a look at what we managed to achieve in our first jam by following the links below:

I’d like to personally thank my team and our talented guest, Tiffany Berenguer, for all their hard work.

The proud founder.

Dawn of the third day…

Good morning all,

It is the final day of Global Games Jam 2015 and the deadline of 3PM is looming ever closer.

The end is nigh and we have been working our little cotton socks off on our project, Admission.

Admission is a point and click game with a visual novel feel, where the player finds themselves alone in a hospital room with no idea of why they are there.

We can’t say much more yet but we will be revealing the fruits of our labour very soon!

See you on the other side,

The founder.

Get hype for Games Jam!

Good day to you fine followers,

Global Games Jam 2015 is almost upon us!

The jam will start at 5pm tomorrow and end at 5pm on Sunday and we can’t wait to get started.

We will be attending this years jam at the Staffordshire University site, where the team all studied their degrees. It has a special place in our hearts and we will see some familiar faces too so we’ll do our best to make our uni proud.

We’ll keep you updated!
